OSHA COLOR REQUIREMENTS Empty OSHA COLOR REQUIREMENTS

Post by Admin Mon Mar 20, 2017 1:25 pm

Q: I received a call from a customer whom has a quote/order in house. The customer is questioning what the brightest color is that can be used for the Toughwash labels. He is trying to meet the OSHA requirements for the label on quote 0024674897, Order 1001351963.
Michael, the customer, advised that the color can be a red/orange, however, he did not provide a PMS color but did indicate that it is rather bright.

A: Per BJ Larson - It seems like the OSHA standard is somewhat vague only reading "These labels shall be fluorescent orange or orange-red or predominantly so, with lettering and symbols in a contrasting color." Our standard Safety Orange (Pantone 158C) was setup to meet OSHA and ANSI standards but I don't know that anything was done specifically for biohazard. Most custom and stock biohazard signs are produced using safety orange.
